Joel Marc Gerson

        Joel Marc Gerson is a Musician, Composer, Arranger, Conductor and Music Educator in the New York City Metro Area. Joel is the Co-founder and Artist Director of The Zany Theatre Projects, as well as a BMI Artist. He has taught Music in Public Schools for over 20 years.  Holding Masters of Science in Music Education from Long Island University C.W. Post and BA Degree in Music from University of Buffalo Studying Composition, Music Education, and Jazz. 

        He was the Composer, Co-Director, Co- Producer and Co-Writer of the The Zany Theatre Projects Off-Broadway show “Where to Draw the Line?” As well as one of the Arrangers for the Off-Broadway show “The Next Step.”  His music has been heard in Showcases and Labs in the New York City Area. 

        As a film composer has written the Theme Music and Score for the TV series “Spirit Hunters-The Series,”  as well as Theme music and Score for "LeveL5Cheer TryOuts." Movies he has written Score for are "Ghostly Visions," "The Axeman Cometh" and "Ring Around The Rosie."

         As a Conductor has served in the Past as Assistant Conductor of the Northshore Pops Concert Band. Has conducted productions of "Footloose the Musical", "Little Shop of Horrors", Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella". Currently Conducting a Production of Stephen Schwartz "Pippin."

        As a performer was the Lead Trumpet player for the Off Broadway run of “Hair” at the Accorn Theater on 42nd Street, The Lead Trumpet for the Off Broadway run of “The Next Step” and Trumpet Player for the Northshore Pops Concert Band. In the past has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Members of the New York Philharmonic, Doc Severinsen, and David Kane’s Them Jazzbeards.  Joel can be seen in the Feature Film “Triptosane” and the short film for the RIP festival, “The Wheel goes Round.”
